A hot and windy area along the boundary between the Rhône valley and Provence to the southeast.
In the foothills of Mont Ventoux lie the Côtes de Ventoux and Côtes de Lubéron appellations. It is very hot during the summer with the dry, Mistral wind blowing in off the Mediterranean almost every day. This weather and the poor limestone soil combine to produce very lush, full-bodied wines.
