Ghisolfi makes one of the best Barolo of Monteforte d'Alba. This 1999 got 92 points from Robert Parker and 2 Bicchieri in the Gambero Rosso. This is a wine you can keep for 3 to 4 more years, but it also drinks very well now. Tasting Notes:A big ruby/garnet color. Intense nose of black cherries, currants, and chocolate. Full-bodied texture with a massive density; high-level concentration; and a very complex finish with tar, herbs, and licorice that accompany the sweet fruit and abundant alcohol level. To have with very big dishes.
