Release Notes:
Borgo Pretale is a very traditional farm near Castellina in Chianti at the heart of the Chianti Classico region. The stone farmhouses and surrounding vineyards have a time-honored atmosphere that make you feel like you have travelled back to the nineteenth century. This traditionalism also comes across in Pretale’s wines. Their Riserva is the product of the fiest grapes from the sunniest hillside vineyards. The grapes are aged for two years in large Slavonian oak barrels before bottling.
Tasting Notes:
A deep garnet colored wine with a orange rim. The nose has typical Chianti reductive notes of sweet cherry, plum and spice blended with a hint of earth, tobacco and anise. The dark cherry and earth notes continue in the mouth and are complemented by soft tannins and a pleasant finish. Enjoy with pizza, pasta, roast chicken, and grilled foods now through 2010.
