Top-notch Piedmont producer creates an intense Barbera from low-yielding vineyards.

Release Notes:
The robust and straightforward Barbera is appreciated throughout Piedmont for producing flavorful and approachable wines. Giardin is no exception - it is the estate’s reserve Barbera made from a selection of the best grapes and is only produced in the finest vintages. Giardin is an elegant, modern-style Barbera that spends 12 months aging in oak barrels creating a wine with great concentration.
Tasting Notes:
The wine has a deep ruby-purple color that is so dark it is almost opaque. The nose is full of toasted oak, smoke, spice, tobacco and fruit aromas. This is an extremely concentrated, medium-bodied wine with big, red fruit (cherry, blackberry, and plum) flavors, smooth tannins, and a long, strong finish on fruit with a hint of vanilla from the toasted oak. This very pleasant wine goes well with barbecues, pasta, cheese, and meats with strong, flavorful sauces. Due to its excellent quality, it can age until 2012. Open an hour before serving to let breathe.
