Cape Haven Chenin Blanc 2007

 South Africa |
|
A crisp, aromatic Chenin Blanc from South Africa. Full of exotic and tropical fruits, South Africa's signature varietal wine.
|
Release Notes:
Chenin Blanc is South Africa’s signature white variety. Unlike the subtle mineral and fruit flavors associated with France’s Loire Valley
Chenins, South African examples explode with citrus and tropical fruit aromas and flavors. Cape Haven’s example (our first 2007 vintage!) is fermented in stainless steel and left on the lees for 2 months before bottling. This develops secondary flavors along with the refreshing fruitiness.
Tasting Notes:
A very aromatic Chenin Blanc with a nose of flowers and tropical fruits. On the palate, guava, green fruit, apricot and exotic fruit flavors are balanced by refreshing acidity before a medium to
long dry finish. Not heady or alcoholic like some examples from South Africa. Try it as an aperitif
or with salads, seafood, sautéed fish, or even Chinese and Thai cuisine. Drink now through 2011.
