A new wine from Casale dello Sparviero, they made this wine to be their flagship Chianti.
|
Release Notes:
This is the maiden vintage of Sparviero’s flagship wine. This single-vineyard Chianti Classico comes from the estate’s oldest vines. Made from 100% Sangiovese grapes grown with very low yields and picked by hand, this wine spent 18 months aging in barriques. Forget about Super Tuscans, this beautifully concentrated Chianti has great character.
Tasting Notes:
A deep garnet colored wine with wild cherry, plum, and jam aromas. On the palate, ripe, soft red fruit flavors complement the vanilla and tobacco notes infused by the oak aging. Excellent concentration and complexity with moderate tannins; this wine has a big chewy finish on spice and fruit. Ideal for pasta with meat sauce, seasoned cheeses, sausage, veal chops, or braised chicken. Drink now to 2012.
