Pinot Meunier makes up 85% of this Champagne’s blend rounded out by Chardonnay. Carte d’Or is a blend of young and mature wines aged in oak. The archetypal Moutardier Champagne, this wine highlights the very best of Pinot Meunier.

Tasting Notes:

A lively, pale yellow wine with a hint of gold. The nose is a gentle blend of fleshy, fresh fruit (peaches, apples, and white grapes) along with biscuit, dried fig and orange marmalade aromas. Rich and generous on the palate with round, persistent bubbles and a gentle finish. With its balance of sweetness and acidity, this very pleasant and easy-drinking Champagne is perfect as an aperitif.

Moutardier owns some of best vineyards for Pinot Meunier in Le Breuil, and this remarkable and underappreciated grape plays an important role in their wines.
