Château La Croix Chantecaille 2005		France
A Grand Cru St. Emilion from the stellar 2005 vintage. La Croix Chantecaille is still young, but like all 2005s, it shows great potential.

Great care is taken in the vineyard including green harvesting, leaf and grape thinning and a selection of only the best grapes are used for this wine, a showcase for Merlot (70%) blended with Cabernet Franc (30%). This is the first of a long line of top Bordeaux 2005s that we will be offering over the next 18 months, and the vintage is living up to the hype.

Tasting Notes:

A youthful, medium garnet colored wine with a well-rounded nose of raspberry, blackberry and earth aromas. Still very young, this wine impresses with a textured palate of berry fruit, cherries, dark chocolate, plum, pepper and spice flavors. Elegant and balanced with a lengthy finish, this Bordeaux from the stellar 2005 vintage will be a hit from 2009 to 2015 when the youthful bite softens.
