Release Notes:
The grapes for Sainte Marie’s Grande Reserve red come from a clay and chalk vineyard on one of Bordeaux’s highest hills. The 2005 is a blend of Merlot (64%), Cabernet Sauvignon (28%) and Cabernet Franc (8%). The wine is then aged for one year in French oak barrels before release. An amazing value. Tasting Notes:Intense crimson colored wine with a nose of red plum, berry and spice. On the palate, the ripe red berry attack is balanced by plum, dark cherry, and pepper notes. Good body with depth,complexity and a long lingering finish. Drink now to 2012 with beef, chicken risotto, lamb, game, or strong cheeses.
