Release Notes:
Garance is an innovative wine since few producers this far south can produce powerful, yet seductive wines from 100% Syrah. Made from the best grapes of 35 year old Syrah vines on Château de Valcombe’s estate and aged in barrels for 16 months, Garance is a truly amazing Costières de Nîmes.
Tasting Notes:
A concentrated and opaque purple colored wine. The nose shows richness and complexity with dominant black fruit, vanilla, smoke, and toast aromas. A full palate of plum and blackberry jam flavors gives way to a smoothly tannic finish. Will be at its best from 2008 to 2012. Let breathe for a couple hours, and serve with roasts, beef stew, cassoulet, lamb, or strong cheeses.
