Release Notes:
Beaujolais is the perfect red wine for the dog days of summer. Nowhere else in the world is the Gamay grape capable of producing such memorable wines. Lantignié is one of the best communes in Beaujolais. Château du Basty’s vines are, on average, 30 years old and grow in granitic soils that yield Gamay grapes with both fruitiness and spice. Beaujolais is perfect alone or with lighter summer fare, sandwiches, and grilled foods; it can even be served chilled or with an ice cube in each glass. Tasting Notes:This wine has an intense, vibrant cherry color with a hint of purple. A typically floral and fruity nose of cherries with a hint of spice precedes a very round and balanced wine on the palate with full-bodied fruit and spice flavors leading to a very clean finish. An ideal wine for cold cuts, full-bodied fish (salmon and swordfish), white meats and barbecue. Can be served chilled. Drink over the next 12 to 18 months. ![]() September grape harvest in Beaujolais. Winery:Château du Basty is back!
