Release Notes:
Cuvée Tradition is one of the estate’s best wines coming from a vineyard with pebbly soil deposited there by the nearby river. It is a blend of Grenache (50%), Syrah (40%), and Mourvèdre (10%) from low-yielding 25-year-old vines. The wine is aged 6 months in oak casks before bottling. A great grilling wine that also goes with hearty, winter fare too. Tasting Notes:Aromas of blueberries, violets, and cinnamon explode on the nose. A very smooth wine with nice tannins. Fruit (black cherries and blackcurrants) and spice flavors abound with a hint of minerality before the fleshy Syrah finish. Pairs well with grilled meats, sausages, strong cheeses or as an aperitif. To drink now to 2009. Region:Costières de Nîmes, the edge of the Languedoc closest to the Rhône valley, is an excellent alternative to the pricier Rhône wines of Crozes-Hermitage and St. Joseph.
