Release Notes:
Grown at the foot of the Andes in Mendoza's Lujan de Cuyo district, the Malbec Gran Reserva is Dolium's top wine. The grapes come from a vineyard close to the winery with 70 year-old vines trained on low trellises. After a hand-harvest of the grapes, the wines spends almost 2 years aging in oak barrels in Dolium's underground cellar. In 2002, the growing season was long producing harmonious wines with nuanced character.
Tasting Notes:
A deep red-violet colored wine This rich, concentrated wine has a medley of blackberry, blueberry, anise, cocoa, toast, sweet tobacco and spice aromas and flavors. Its sleek, silky tannins linger generously in the extremely long finish. A wine that can age to further develop complexity, if you open now, let breathe before serving with lamb, steak, or barbecue and let its beautiful flavors envelop you.
