Release Notes:
Domaine Bernard’s St. Véran Vieilles Vignes (literally “old vines”) comes from a Chardonnay vineyard planted with 35 to 45 year-old vines. Different parts of the vineyard are harvested over a few days to ensure optimum ripeness. The majority (60%) of the wine is matured in new French oak barrels for 11 months. Just over a thousand cases produced per year. Tasting Notes:A medium lemon colored wine with a soft nose of white fruit, flowers, and oak. The palate of this wine is rich, smooth and round with concentrated fruit (peach and apple) flavors and is perfectly rounded out by the restrained use of oak. This wine has a medium to long opulent and refreshing finish. It will partner well with a variety of seafood dishes (swordfish, lobster, mussels), salads, roast chicken, and cheeses.
