A distinguished Cabernet that hails from a country whose wines are well worth trying: Uruguay - the next great South American wine producer.
|
Release Notes:
The soil in the Monte de Luz vineyards consists of rare vertical schist that is perfect for growing vines (and the local Carquera plant, found on the label). The utmost care is taken in the vineyard, and the harvest is done carefully by hand before a temperature controlled vinification.
Tasting Notes:
Elegant ruby color. Intense, ripe nose with hints of blackcurrant, raspberry and plum. Typical Cabernet flavor with berry flavors, silky tannins and a long, fruit-driven finish. Balanced and elegant. Great with red meats, steak, lamb, Chateaubriand, and cheeses. Can cellar for 2 to 4 years (2011).
