Release Notes:
The Maule Valley contains some of Chile’s southernmost vineyards. This valley is cooler and wetter than most of Chile, which makes it well-suited to produce world-class Chardonnay. Oriental’s grapes come from their own vineyards and are harvested by hand. After fermentation, 70% of the wine is aged in American oak barrels for 5 months before bottling.
Tasting Notes:
Pale straw colored wine. The nose is full of fruit with green apple, pear, peach, and tropical fruit aromas. This wine explodes in the mouth with fresh fruit flavors of apple and tropical fruit accompanied by some grass and mineral flavors. There is a hint of oak on the palate and in the clean, dry, elegant finish. This Chardonnay makes a delicious aperitif or can be served with fish and meat salads, grilled chicken, pork, cow’s milk cheese, baked fish and salmon. Drink now to 2009.
