Release Notes:
Located in the heart of Burgundy’s Hautes-Côtes de Beaune appellation, Rodet’s Château de Mercey produces an exceptional red Mercurey Premier Cru. The Pinot Noir is hand-harvested to ensure that only the fully riped grapes are used. After vinification, the wine matures in French oak barrels for a year before bottling. Tasting Notes:An intense garnet color typical of red Burgundy. The nose is expressive with red berry fruit, raspberry, earthiness and smooth toast notes from the wood. In the mouth, this wine is round and well-balanced with floral, raspberry and cranberry flavors and delicate tannins. The mid-palate is layered with flavors of licorice, plums and vanilla from the oak. Let it breathe for 45 minutes and enjoy with red meats, pork and rich cheeses.
