Release Notes:
Aloxe-Corton is one of the most prestigious appellations in the Côte de Beaune. Several red Grand Cru are issued from this region and Corton-Renardes from Domaine d’Ardhuy is one of them. The vines for this wine are 40 years old and were grown in brown limestone soils. The grapes were hand-harvested, then the juice was fermented and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels (50% new). Tasting Notes:Intense bright garnet-red color. A dense nose of blackberries and leather notes. The mouthfeel is powerful and rich with smooth tannins. This Renardes offers full and powerful flavors with excellent depth and outstanding length. This is a promising wine, and can be cellared for at least the next 10 to 15 years. A great accompaniment to the finest meat and game dishes. Winery:Domaine d’Ardhuy is our favorite new discovery from Burgundy.
