Release Notes:
Domaine des Malandes eschews the use of ageing in wood in order to preserve the unique flavors that Chablis’ Kimmeridgian soil imparts on the wine. Their Premier Cru Côte de Lechet comes from an east-facing vineyard that lies on a mixture of calcareous and clay soils. It produces intensely mineral wines with good fruit intensity. 2004 was a classic vintage in Chablis.
Tasting Notes:
Characteristic light golden color. A seductive mineral and fruit nose with apple, pear, anise and
grapefruit aromas. The wine is full-bodied,
and very dry with crisp acidity, and rich apple
and pear fruit sensations with mineral notes and a very long, lingering, fruity finish of citrus and green apples. A classic Premier Cru Chablis that could age until 2010-12 developing complexity. Ideal with white meats, fish, light cheeses, or salads.
