Vaudésir, one of the seven Grand Crus, produces wines that can age a decade or more. This is the only wine from Domaine des Malandes that spends any time in oak and it is used judiciously - 50% new oak barrels used for ageing.

Made from 30 year old vines that are known for their acidity and richness and get pruned twice each year! The yields are low: averaging only 43 ha/hl over the past ten vintages.

Tasting Notes:

This magnificent Chardonnay is golden in color, with an elegant and powerful mineral and fruit nose with scents of white apple blossom. It is full-bodied with good structure and acidity and has a fantastic mouthfeel with beautiful dense fruit flavors and a touch of oak that linger on the finish. It can be cellared for 7 to 10 more years and will develop roundness and complexity. This is a Chardonnay that cannot be missed; serve it chilled with lighter poultry and seafood dishes - especially Lobster.
