Release Notes:
Pavane is one of Guy’s two Vacqueyras made from 35 year old vines. It is predominantly Grenache (70+%) with some Carignan and Mourvèdre rounding out the blend. This is one of the best Vacqueyras we have ever tasted; Jancis Robinson MW called the 2004 vintage a, “better value than many a Châteauneuf” and listed it as one of her 50 great red wine buys. Tasting Notes:A deep ruby colored wine with rich cherry, red fruit, floral and anise aromas. The palate is full of plum, berry and stewed fruit flavors as well as coffee, chocolate, licorice and mild black pepper notes before a big spicy finish. This complex red would benefit from a couple more years cellaring. Enjoy with beef stews, roast lamb, duck, or Mexican food. Winery:LA Bastide St. Vincent is a family-owned estate that dates back to the 18th century. The Daniel family owns 50 acres of small vineyards spread out across a half dozen villages....
