Release Notes:
Lacoste-Borie is the second label of the Château Grand Puy Lacoste, a fifth classified Grand Cru in Pauillac owned by the Borie family. The 220 acres of vines consist primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The juice is fermented in stainless steel vats and then vinified in French oak barrels (50% new) for 18 months. 2004 is an excellent vintage for Lacoste-Borie, The Wine Spectator gave it a 91/100 rating. Tasting Notes:A dense garnet colored wine with an expressive bouquet of red berries, spice and vanilla in the nose. The palate is generous, full-bodied and silky with well-integrated tannins. The evolving fruit flavors layered with vanilla and spice lead to a licorice finish. Can be cellared easily 6 to 7 years. Serve with fine meats cooked on the grill, game, duck, lamb and fine cheeses.
