Release Notes:
Montalcino is a medieval hilltop village that dominates the surrounding countryside. The Ripaccioli family have only been making wine at Le Gode for 15 years, and have already made a name for themselves thanks to a blend of traditional winemaking philosophy and modern technology. Their Brunello is made from a careful selection of Sangiovese grapes. After three years in Slavonian oak casks, it evolves in the bottle for another year or so before release.
Tasting Notes:
An intensely brilliant ruby-garnet colored wine with evocative fresh red fruit, forest floor, mushroom spice and vanilla herb aromas. In the mouth, this full-bodied wine balances dark cherry, plum, anise and spice notes with power, structure and a velvety finesse leading up to a long finish with soft tannins. A great Brunello that will continue to develop until 2015. Enjoy it with game, lambs chops, salami, pastas with meat sauce, grilled steak, and aged chesses.
