A smooth, barrel-aged red from Luc Pirlet. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is definitely a food wine.

Release Notes:
Luc Pirlet wines are produced from vineyards located between Narbonne and Limoux, in France’s Languedoc region, which has a rich cultural and historical legacy. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wine is made from grapes grown in some of Pirlet’s gravel-based, south-facing vineyards. After a three-week fermentation, the wine is matured in French oak barrels (one third new) between 6 months and a year.
Tasting Notes:
A deep dark garnet colored wine with ripe fruit aromas. The fruit continues in the mouth with a fresh hint of vanilla from the oak, leather and cedar notes. Surprisingly fresh and smooth with medium tannins, this wine has a long finish on fruit. Ideal with poultry, red meats and strong cheeses. Drink now to 2013.
