Release Notes:
In December, the Grüner Veltliner is left on the vines. When the weather is below zero, the grapes begin to freeze and become solid. They can then be picked up to make Ice Wine. They are picked grain by grain and put in a vat where only the liquid in each berry is gathered. The water in the grapes, which is solid, is thrown out so all the sugar of the wine does not become ice. This is what makes the Ice Wine with an enormous concentration of residue of sugar. We found Riedenhof Kadlec's Lyss Doux Grüner Veltliner Ice Wine very good, well made and with a huge concentration of sugar. It is not too expensive for the delicious Ice Wine it is. Unfortunately, we have very little and we offer only 6 bottles of 375 ml to each of our customers. Tasting Notes:Very sweet with nutty almonds in the palate, and with at least 30% residual sugar in the glass. To drink very cold. Great with desserts or at the end of a meal.
