Release Notes:
Ottone I, named after Otto I, a local noble who became the first Holy Roman Emperor, is made from Barbera grapes grown on the estate’s south-facing vineyards in the hills of Langhe. The wine is aged for 9 months in oak casks, producing a soft and straightforward Barbera that drinks great with a variety of cuisines.
Tasting Notes:
A ruby red colored wine with an intense, yet delicate nose of red fruits, flowers, and wood. On the palate, it has plenty of fleshy red cherry flavors and a pleasing, crisp finish. A great food wine, it will highlight your favorite pasta, pork, braised beef, and strong cheese dishes. Drink now to 2009.
