Release Notes:
2003 turned out to be another great vintage in Barolo. At harvest, the quality was uncertain, but after a 3 year cask aging, the flamboyantly atypical 2003s are delicious. Bussia is a fabled vineyard, the Barale brothers have two-and-a-half acres with an ideal southwest exposure.
Tasting Notes:
A brilliant brick red colored wine with an orange-red rim. Intensely floral nose with aromas of mincemeat, cloves, cinnamon, cherries, smoke and wood. A full-bodied, dry wine with velvety tannins and a long finish on fruit (cherry and berries). Great with roasts, broiled meats, game, cheeses and stews. Let breathe before serving. Will be at its best with a few more years in the cellar and will continue to develop until 2020.
