Located near Florence in the town of Tavernelle Val di Pesa, the Villa dell’Ugo dates back to the 16th century. 100 of the estate's 330 acres are devoted to viticulture with the the vineyards situated between 250 to 300 meters above sea level.
Tenuta L'Ugo's winery is located in the Villa; it is surrounded by a wide courtyard containing aging cellars full of oak barrels and barriques. The estate’s Chianti Reserva is mostly Sangiovese (90%) with some Colorino and other red grapes rounding out the blend. The wine spends up to six months aging in oak barrels.

A garnet colored wine. The nose has expressive aromas of black cherry, red berry, plum, earth and leather. On the palace red fruit (raspberry and plum), spice, orange peel and wood notes lead into a clean finish of mild tannins.
