Release Notes:
Barbera is attracting renewed interest in Piedmont. Unlike the fussy Nebbiolo grape, Barbera is easier to grow, does not require extensive barrel aging, and produces big, bold, juicy wines beloved by consumers around the world. Vitis is produced from grapes grown biodynamically in La Meridiana’s own vineyards. After a traditional fermentation in large casks, half of the wine spends 6 months in French Allier oak barrels before bottling. Tasting Notes:A ruby red colored wine with classic Barbera purplish-blue tones. This wine has a attractive, fruity red berry and cherry nose with a hint of perfume. The red fruit continues across the palate where it is complemented by a touch of wood and spice. The full-bodied wine has structure and nuance leading to a light tannic finish. Eminently pleasurable, this red is a food wine; it can be enjoyed with pasta, pizza, grilled meat, roast chicken and fresh cheeses. Enjoy now to 2011. Country:Overview Similar Wines
