Terre di Sole Sangiovese Sicilia IGT 2008

Sicily's warm climate has made this Sangiovese a food-friendly but still easy-drinking wine.
|
Release Notes:
Sicily's best wines are deep, dark reds made from fully-ripened grapes grown in its warm, dry vineyards. Sangiovese, the great red grape of Brunello and Chianti, is one of many transplants that has thrived on the island. Terre di Sole is located in the town of Montoni on the island’s southern coast. Their Sangiovese is made by softly pressing the berries to avoid the extraction of bitter flavors and tannins. This is a great food wine that shows off the best of Sicily.
Tasting Notes:
A ruby red wine with red plum and cherry aromas. On the palate, the
smooth, easy-drinking red has ripe red fruit, berry and tobacco flavors. It is balanced with good complexity and a silky, fruity finish. A great wine for Italian food; enjoy with pasta, pizza, grilled meat or barbecue, salads, and soft cheeses. Drink now through 2011.
