Release Notes:
The Baudin Cabernet Sauvignon spends 18 months in new French oak. The 2004 vintage has just been awarded five stars by Australia’s Winestate Magazine (and was called the top Cabernet) and an amazing 96/100 in James Halliday’s 2008 Australian Wine Companion.
Tasting Notes:
Intensely concentrated aromas of blackcurrant, chocolate, coffee and lightly toasted French oak predominate on the nose. Very smooth and round on the palate with black fruit (especially cherry), chocolate, and vanilla oak flavors. Soft chewy tannins and a very long finish. Can age for 10 or more years. Accompanies beef dishes, lamb with herbs, pasta Bolognese, and even kangaroo.
